On September 18, 2025, the Pinkas Synagogue in Prague hosted the ceremonial unveiling of the renewed memorial plaque dedicated to the Righteous Among the Nations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cel\u00fdm programem prov\u00e1zela Petra Schwarz Koutsk\u00e1. Mezi \u0159e\u010dn\u00edky vystoupila \u0159editelka \u017didovsk\u00e9ho muzea v Praze Pavla Niklov\u00e1, Ladislav Katu\u0161\u010d\u00e1k, kter\u00fd nese jm\u00e9no po zachr\u00e1nci, a Alena Drmolov\u00e1, zastupuj\u00edc\u00ed rodinu spravedliv\u00fdch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

O pam\u00e1tn\u00edku promluvili tak\u00e9 jeho auto\u0159i Lucie a Jaroslav R\u00f3na<\/a>. Z\u00e1v\u011bre\u010dn\u00e9 pod\u011bkov\u00e1n\u00ed pronesl Franti\u0161ek B\u00e1nyai jm\u00e9nem Ve\u0159ejn\u011b prosp\u011b\u0161n\u00e9ho spolku na podporu osob dot\u010den\u00fdch holocaustem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musical accompaniment was provided by baritone V\u00e1clav Dlask, soprano Veronika Kaiserov\u00e1, and bass David Mal\u00e1t. They performed songs from Slavdom in Its Songs by Ludv\u00edk Kuba: the Czech folk song \u0160irok\u00fd hlubok\u00fd from the Kou\u0159im region, the Moravian song U\u017e sa ty hore\u010dky zelenaj\u00fa from Vizovice, and the Slovak song L\u00e1ska, bo\u017ee, l\u00e1ska! (\u201cLove, oh God, Love!\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was an expression of deep respect for those who, in times of persecution, did not hesitate to risk their own lives to save others. The organizers thanked all donors who supported the renewal of the memorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI believe that most participants felt the uniqueness of the event, the strength of emotions, and how important the inclusion of the Righteous\u2019 names was for the family. I was truly glad that, thanks to the donors, the addition of the names to the memorial could be realized \u2013 for the descendants of both the Righteous and the rescued, it was profoundly meaningful. I thank everyone who supported the project and came to the unveiling.\u201d

\u201cWhen a representative of the Gerstein family, rescued by the Righteous Among the Nations, approached us with the request to add the names of their rescuers to the memorial at the Pinkas Synagogue, it was clear that such a request could not be denied. Thanks above all to Fero B\u00e1nyai, but also to many other dedicated people, this has now been achieved. The story shared with us at the unveiling by Mrs. Alena Drmolov\u00e1, a descendant of the rescuers\u2019 family, was more than an inspiration \u2013 it was a true reward for the effort invested.\u201d
