On September 16 and 17, fifty-one new Stolpersteine were laid at twenty-five locations in Prague. With this act, the city once again commemorated the victims of the Nazi regime and their stories.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Stolpersteine project makes a significant contribution to society\u2019s living memory \u2013 it draws attention to the horrors and crimes of Nazism and restores to the public space the names of those who were silenced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The laying of the stones is requested not only by the victims\u2019 relatives but often also by civic organizations or even the homeowners themselves. Each stone thus becomes a small act of remembrance \u2013 a tribute to a specific person and their symbolic return home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the figures honored with Stolpersteine this year were, for example, Pavel Tigrid<\/a> and Karel \u0160venk<\/a>, the author of the Terez\u00edn anthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Letos mezi n\u011b pat\u0159ili velvyslanci N\u011bmecka a Rakouska, starosta Prahy 7, zastupitel\u00e9 Magistr\u00e1tu hl. m\u011bsta Prahy a m\u011bstsk\u00fdch \u010d\u00e1st\u00ed Praha 2 a Praha 3, \u0159editel\u00e9 \u010cesko-n\u011bmeck\u00e9ho fondu budoucnosti, \u0159editelka N\u00e1rodn\u00edho pedagogick\u00e9ho muzea a mnoho dal\u0161\u00edch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the important witnesses to the laying of Stolpersteine were also children from the Lauder Schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
