New Stolpersteine commemorating victims of Nazism will be installed in Prague

Stolpersteine 2026

On 12, 16, and 17 June, another installation of Stolpersteine memorial stones will take place in Prague. A total of 63 new stones will be placed at 24 addresses across different districts of the city, commemorating the tragic fates of people who became victims of Nazi persecution.

Stolpersteine, often referred to in Czech as “stones of the disappeared,” are small brass plaques embedded in the pavement in front of buildings where victims of Nazism last lived freely. Stolpersteine have been installed in Prague since 2008, and their number has gradually increased. Today, there are nearly 900 of these memorial stones in the city’s streets.

The installation of new stones is a unique opportunity to pause and remember the names and individual stories of people who were murdered by the Nazi regime.
