On 24 February 2026, the association’s general meeting took place in the concert hall of the Hagibor Social Care Home. Seventeen members attended, and guests from the Hagibor Social Care Home and the Hagibor Foundation were also present.

Členové spolku jednomyslně schválili Výroční zprávu o činnosti za rok 2025. Spolek v uplynulém roce pokračoval zejména v podpoře sociálních služeb a speciálních terapeutických programů pro klienty, které nejsou hrazeny zdravotními pojišťovnami. Podpořeny byly také projekty připomínající historickou paměť, včetně projektu Stolpersteine a několika benefičních akcí na obnovu významných míst židovské paměti v Praze.

Financial results for 2025 were also approved. The Association reported revenues of CZK 14.8 million and expenses of CZK 15.3 million; the resulting loss of CZK 457 thousand will be covered from retained earnings from previous years.

Členská schůze zároveň rozhodla o uložení části volných finančních prostředků do fondů spravovaných společností Conseq Investment Management ve vyvážené investiční strategii. Cílem je vyšší zhodnocení prostředků při zachování konzervativního přístupu k riziku.

On 18 December 2025, a members’ meeting of the Public Benefit Association for the Support of Persons Affected by the Holocaust was held at the Hagibor Social Care Home. The meeting was attended by a total of 15 members and was chaired by the association’s chairman, František Bányai.

The members’ meeting discussed and approved the acceptance and provision of donations to key partner organizations for 2026, specifically the acceptance of a donation from the Hagibor Foundation and the provision of donations to the Hagibor Social Care Home, the Social Department of ŽOP, KDP Ezra, the Holocaust Victims Endowment Fund, and the Rafael Institute. The meeting also addressed the issue of investing temporarily free financial resources through a professional asset manager.

A key item on the agenda was a presentation by Radek Roule, Director of the Hagibor Social Care Home, who provided the association’s members with a detailed overview of the institution’s current situation. He described the day-to-day operation of the care home, outlined the challenges facing its management, and specified the equipment and services that have been made possible thanks to the association’s long-term support.

On September 18, 2025, the Pinkas Synagogue in Prague hosted the ceremonial unveiling of the renewed memorial plaque dedicated to the Righteous Among the Nations.

Celým programem provázela Petra Schwarz Koutská. Mezi řečníky vystoupila ředitelka Židovského muzea v Praze Pavla Niklová, Ladislav Katuščák, který nese jméno po zachránci, a Alena Drmolová, zastupující rodinu spravedlivých.

O památníku promluvili také jeho autoři Lucie a Jaroslav Róna. Závěrečné poděkování pronesl František Bányai jménem Veřejně prospěšného spolku na podporu osob dotčených holocaustem.

Musical accompaniment was provided by baritone Václav Dlask, soprano Veronika Kaiserová, and bass David Malát. They performed songs from Slavdom in Its Songs by Ludvík Kuba: the Czech folk song Široký hluboký from the Kouřim region, the Moravian song Už sa ty horečky zelenajú from Vizovice, and the Slovak song Láska, bože, láska! (“Love, oh God, Love!”).

The ceremony was an expression of deep respect for those who, in times of persecution, did not hesitate to risk their own lives to save others. The organizers thanked all donors who supported the renewal of the memorial.

“I believe that most participants felt the uniqueness of the event, the strength of emotions, and how important the inclusion of the Righteous’ names was for the family. I was truly glad that, thanks to the donors, the addition of the names to the memorial could be realized – for the descendants of both the Righteous and the rescued, it was profoundly meaningful. I thank everyone who supported the project and came to the unveiling.”

“When a representative of the Gerstein family, rescued by the Righteous Among the Nations, approached us with the request to add the names of their rescuers to the memorial at the Pinkas Synagogue, it was clear that such a request could not be denied. Thanks above all to Fero Bányai, but also to many other dedicated people, this has now been achieved. The story shared with us at the unveiling by Mrs. Alena Drmolová, a descendant of the rescuers’ family, was more than an inspiration – it was a true reward for the effort invested.”

The fundraising campaign to restore the memorial plaque was successful. We sincerely thank all donors. The unveiling will take place on September 18 at 5 PM in the courtyard of the Pinkas Synagogue.
